  • Memory
All printer models have 64 MB SDRAM standard soldered on the controller board. The controller supports a maximum of 512 MB of SDRAM memory (total of soldered and memory slots). There are two slots available for SDRAM  memory and flash memory. A maximum of 16 MB of optional flash memory is  supported.
  • Printer System Attachment Interfaces
    • IEEE 1284 Parallel interface with a Type B connector and a USB interface (standard on base models)

This product is EuroReady.

EuroReady Products: IBM considers an IBM product to be EuroReady if the product, when used in accordance with its associated documentation, is capable of correctly processing monetary data in the euro denomination and of respecting the euro currency formatting conventions (including the euro sign). This assumes that all other products (for example, hardware, software, and firmware) that are used with this product are also EuroReady. IBM hardware products that are EuroReady may or may not have an engraved euro sign key on their keyboards.

Currently, EuroReady status applies primarily to IBM products specific to the EMU countries. Products that are not specific to these countries are deemed to be "not ready" for euro unless otherwise stated in the product's country-specific specifications.

EuroReady Solutions

IBM considers a solution to be EuroReady when the solution providers have:

Analyzed the euro requirements, including the need to comply with relevant EC rules
Built in appropriate function
and can clearly demonstrate this by:

Detailing euro related requirements
Describing how these will be implemented in the solution
Declaring when the implementation will be generally available
The euro capabilities of a EuroReady solution will be clearly identified as features of the solution specification as described in the contracts document.

Supplies: No supplies are required with the machine order. Infoprint Color 1220 is shipped with 6,000 print cartridges for all colors (black, cyan, magenta, yellow). Replacement 6,000 and 15,000 print cartridges are available. It is the customer's responsibility to order and maintain an adequate inventory of toner cartridges.

IBM customers have come to expect high quality supplies with competitive prices. IBM now offers a second option for purchasing supplies. Our new program offers you an opportunity to obtain toner cartridges that are even more competitively priced than before:

Through the IBM Printer Supplies Return Program, you may obtain a specially priced toner cartridge in exchange for your agreement to return your empty toner cartridges back to IBM for recycling. To make it even easier, you receive postage-paid return labels to cover toner return costs.

If you decide that you would rather not return the toner cartridge to IBM for recycling, you will have the option to purchase a standard toner cartridge at regular prices.

This program may not be available in all countries.
