IBM Infoprint 62
For reliable, continuous-forms systems printing on a wide range of media types, sizes, and weights
Highlights
- High-quality, continuous forms printing
- Entry-level systems printer
- Flash fusing for efficient label printing
- Straight paper path for reliable printing on a wide variety of media
- Unique cutting design minimizes paper waste
- Small footprint
Complex business environments require a flexible print solution that meets many diverse needs.
Businesses need a traditional production printer with the versatility to print special forms and labels- all with exceptional quality.
New and improved benefits
The Infoprint 62 helps to streamline supply chain management by ensuring that your products have accurate, legible labels that can be easily scanned.
As a warehouse automation system, the Infoprint 62 cost-effective prints documents at the point-of-need. Print jobs can be submitted to the Infoprint 62 using a corporate intranet, providing easy
access from all parts of your enterprise. By supporting a wide range of paper, one IBM Infoprint 62 can replace the need for several specialty printers. Superior Reliability
The IBM Infoprint 62 offers the reliability of a continuous forms printer. It accurately registers print placement on continuous forms making it well-suited to print bar codes and Optical Character
Recognition (OCR) applications. The straight paper path minimizes operator intervention and allows the use of difficult-to-print heavy stock and labels. Because the paper stays flat, labels are less likely to
peel off, and heave stock doesn't tear at paper perforations. The printer uses non-contect flash-fusing technology, which makes it ideal for both production printing and special forms printing, such as heavy
stock, labels and ID cards.
And what's more, you can be confident that the Infoprint 62 is both Year 2000-ready and EuroReady.
Leading-Edge Controller
The new, powerful Advanced Function Common Control Unit (AFCCU) leverages IBM's enhanced RISC System/6000 technology. Compressed images, graphics, outline fonts and printer-generated bar codes
can be processed and rendered at rated speeds.
The control unit includes a diskette drive and hard disk for font and resource storage and easy
microcode updates. In addition, it offers flexible attachment possibilities, such as Ethernet or Token Ring for LAN connection, or S/370 Parallel Channel or ESCON for host attachment.
User-Friendly Design
The auto load and auto unload features simplify paper management. The operator simply inserts the
paper into the input tractors and it loads automatically when a job starts. At the end of a job, the printer cuts the paper and repositions the leading edge at the input tractors. This procedure simplifies paper
handling and minimizes paper waste.
Enhanced Printing Capabilities
The IBM Infoprint 62 fully leverages the IBM Advanced Function Presentation (AFP) software to provide
enhanced printing capabilities that include:
- Application flexibility, including electronic forms, bar codes and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) characters
- Printing vector graphics, compressed images and text anywhere on the page
- Printing with multiple fonts
- Printing up to 4 logical pages on a simplex sheet
- WYSIWYG viewing of the document, either before or after printing
Summary
The IBM Infoprint 62 continuous forms printer offers:
- Flexibility for both general purpose and special forms printing
- Straight paper path and flash fusing technology for printing on a wide variety of paper types and sizes, including difficult-to-print forms
- Unique cutting design minimizes paper waste
- Powerful control unit for printing complex jobs
- Prints OCR and bar codes, including PostNet
