Ethernet support is available in AUI/10 Base-5 connection (Thick Ethernet) and either a BNC/10 Base-2
(Thin Ethernet) connection or a UTP/10 Base-T (unshielded Twisted Pair Ethernet) connection and a choice of one of the following network operating systems:
- Novell/NetWare including custom Xerox network management capabilities
- EtherTalk for connectivity to a Macintosh, NetWare (NetWare Print -4.01 is supported in bindery emulation mode-), 4.02 and 4.1
- TCP/IP to interface to a variety of widely used protocols, including rarp, arp and telnet. The
4220/4230/MRP supports lpr/lpd, lpsched and qdaemon pront environments. Host software providing access to the extended capabilities of the 4220/4230/MRP MICR is available for the
following UNIX clients: SunOS 4.x, UP-UX 9.0 and later, IBM AIX 3.1 and later, and DEC Ultrix (RISC)
- LAN Manager/LAN Server/Windows NT. (3.1) LAN Manager supports Microsoft LAN Manager
version 2.1 and IBM OS/2 Versions 1.3 and 2.0, Windows NT supports Microsoft Window NT and Windows NT Advanced Server
- Token Ring (IEEE 802.5) supports either an STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) or a UTP (Unshielded
Twisted Pair) connection to a 4 Mb or 16Mb network
- LAN Manager/LAN Server/Windows NT or Netware.
-FAX Interface includes FAX modem for CCITT Group 3 and PostScript (North and South America Only)
IBM IPDS SNA Character Stream (SCS), Intelligent Printer Data Stream (IPDS), Adobe Level 2
PostScript and HP PCL5 emulation are fully supported with automatic emulation sensing.
IBM printer emulations, including 3812/3816 in 5219 mode, 5224, 5225, 5256, 4245, 4234, and 6262
(twinax) and 3812/3816 in 3268 mode, 3268, 3287, 4214, 4245, and 6262 (coax), 3812, 3816, and 4028 (IPDS), 5219 (DCA-FFT).
Easy to read control panel and LED display to set up printer and display error conditions.
Support of multiple active ports with the ability to set priority to any port automatically.
